Area was last night.
we did really well.
[1st]--Science--17/25
[1st]--English--20/25
[1st]--ID--17/25
[those were my teams]
[1st]--Math--20/25
[2nd]--Fine Arts--17/25
[5th]--Social Studies--11/25[yikes]
there were only 6 schools that we were competing against.
overall, we did great last night.
that, however, proved to be a pointless effort.
the only team that made it to state was Math.
now allow me to rant.
ya see, you cant challenge questions or answers to questions, you can only challenge procedure.
there, you needed to know that before i continue.
there was one question at the end of the English round. *How were Emily Dickinson's view on the war similar to those of Walt Whitman?* the answer was *similar, but less verbose.* they said the answer was *the reverse* this is wrong. or at least, thats what we believe. [and we're good at interpreting stuff, so we're right.] because of this, we missed the question. and because we missed the question, we didnt go to state. purdue...ugh. they suck hardcore. [they're the ones that write all the questions] fuck you purdue. you screwed us over in ID too. ugh.....
its not a huge deal, so we didnt get to state. i'll get over it. but its just kinda dumb, we didnt get the answers wrong because we were wrong. we got them wrong because PURDUE was wrong. why should we be penalized for their error? why?
im done ranting.
in other news.
today is Daniel's birthday. hes 17.
i know hes not going to read this, but i'll give him a mini shout out anyways.
happy birthday friend.
